Windows 11 has arrived, and many people are eager to install it on their old computers that are no longer supported. Microsoft previously stated that it would not send updates to Windows 11 customers running on unsupported computers, but it now appears that the corporation has delivered the most recent patches, but this may not be the case in the future.
Microsoft stated that unsupported PCs would not be entitled to updates, but it did not state that they would be unable to download them even if they were entitled. Microsoft had its first Patch Tuesday since the release of Windows 11, and while the upgrade may have exacerbated AMD processor troubles, users with unsupported PCs could download and install it.
Many thought that Microsoft would eventually deliver the upgrades to unsupported computers, but the corporation was simply stating that people wouldn't be entitled to them, allowing it to withhold them if it so desired.
Before you run out and install Windows 11 on an unsupported PC in the hopes of receiving updates indefinitely, keep in mind that Microsoft has said that unsupported PCs will not be entitled to updates. This opens the door for Microsoft to stop patching those PCs, potentially leaving them vulnerable to security and other risks.
Of course, we're not recommending that you install Windows 11 on an unsupported PC. If your machine can run Windows 11 without a hitch, that's fantastic; just keep in mind that you can stop receiving updates at any time, which could be detrimental to your PC's long-term health.
